Benita Keller is a freelance fine art photographer, photojournalist, and artist.  She has photographed in Africa, Vietnam, Russia, Haiti and Cuba.  She is currently working on two books of photographs taken on her seven trips to Cuba and has shown her work in Washington, DC; Carmel, California; and in New York City.  Portfolios of her work include: Portraits, Landscapes, Nudes, Cuba, Circus, Russia, Africa, Vietnam, The Million Man March, 911, Protest, Sarah, Weddings, and Shepherdstown. 

She has taught photography at Shepherd University, Shepherdstown, WV; Hagerstown Community College, Hagerstown, Md.; The Art Institute of Washington, Washington, DC; and The Montgomery College of Art & Design, Silver Spring, Md.  Keller has received artist grant awards from the states of Maryland and West Virginia and was listed as one of the top 100 photographers in the United States by the Ernst Haas Award.  She is also in the archives of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington. DC, and was a runner up for the Dorothy Lange and Paul Strand Photography Award. 

Keller currently lives in Shepherdstown, WV, and accepts commissioned photography work that fits into her style of shooting.  One of Keller's continual projects is the "Wedding as Ritual".  She will accept wedding commissions from people looking for a total black and white photojournalist style and are wishing for their wedding to part of this important project.
